Ephesus is a study in contrasts. Described as the "Vanity Fair of the Ancient World" for its worldliness, it's also the home of the apostle Paul, where he wrote the letter to the Ephesians.
Seeing the six minarets and domes of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (or Blue Mosque) from across the the Sultanahmet Square, the Mosque has the effect I'm sure it's architect intended; to inspire awe with its overwhelming size, majesty and splendor.

I never gave a lot of thought to visiting Turkey. I was aware of depth of history and architecture found there, but somehow, I never considered visiting there. At least until an opportunity presented itself to tour the 7 cities of Revelation.
